Why Nectr for home solar + battery?
Is solar worth it?
Adding solar panels to your home can result in savings on your power bills. You will begin using power from your solar panels during the day, rather than from the electricity grid and should see a reduction in your electricity bill overall. Depending on your electricity retailer, you may be eligible for a Feed-in-Tariff for the unused solar power you export back to the grid. Adding solar panels can also increase the value of your property. Read our blog here about other benefits to adding solar.

Conditions and documents
Before we can install the solar PV system or solar PV and battery system, the following preconditions need to be met:
- We are satisfied you meet our eligibility requirements
- Customer has secured any local council, home loan lender and other 3rd party approvals required for the solar PV and battery systems to be installed; and
- We are satisfied we can install the system at your premises.
If a Precondition is not met, then we may terminate the Agreement and discuss what other Nectr electricity plans may better suit your needs.
We don’t plan to change your energy plan pricing during the 7-year contract term.
The only reason we would be able to vary your electricity prices is where the costs we incur in selling you electricity varies or we expect they will, but only where that cost variation arises from a future Change in Law. Some examples of previous Change in Law events include the introduction of a carbon tax and a new government levy to support ambulance services. We would provide you with advance notice of any variation in your electricity prices.
If you decide to exit the contract early, you must pay the System Buyout Price. You will then own the System.
The Initial Buyout Price of Nectr Home Solar is $4,960, which reflects the system’s initial value.
The Initial Buyout Price of Nectr Home Solar + Battery is $12,775, which reflects the system’s initial value.
The System Buyout Price then decreases uniformly each day before reaching $0 on the day your contract ends at 7 years.
Some reasons for early exit include:
- You sell or vacate your premises;
- You interfere with the system operation and it can’t produce for 90 days; or
- You fail to pay three bills by their due date in any 12-month period
Other key fees with the electricity plan include:
Nectr Home Solar De-installation fee: $1,000
This fee covers our costs for removing the system from your roof. It applies if: (1) you require us to remove and then reinstall the system to allow for renovations or other work to your roof; or (2) we start to install the system, but encounter a Latent Condition and rectifying that condition would substantially delay or increase the installation cost. A Latent Condition means a physical condition at your Premises and its near surrounds, which couldn’t have been reasonably foreseen.
Nectr Home Solar + Battery De-installation fee: $1,200
Fee covers our costs for removing the system from your roof. It applies if: (1) you require us to remove and then reinstall the system to allow for renovation works or work to your roof; or (2) we start to install the system, but encounter a Latent Condition and rectifying that condition would substantially delay or increase the installation cost. A Latent Condition means a physical condition at your Premises & its near surrounds which couldn’t have been reasonably foreseen.
Call out fee: $200
This fee covers our costs for attending your Premises to investigate any damage you notify us about that you believe we caused during the system installation. This fee only applies if we determine the damage was NOT caused by us during the installation Works. We will repair any damage we cause carrying out the installation Works. You must notify us as soon as possible, but in any event within three months of any damage.
